Escrow System v4 Released Multisig Integration Added

Escrow v4 multisig integration released

The full release of Escrow System v4 on December 15, 2025 marked the most significant update to the platform's transaction security architecture since its initial deployment. Building on the beta testing of Bitcoin multisig that began in September, v4 delivers full multisig escrow support for both Monero and Bitcoin, along with several improvements to the standard escrow flow. Monero multisig implementation uses Monero's native multi-signature protocol that has been available since the Monero v0.17 release. The implementation creates a 2-of-3 key structure where buyer, vendor, and platform each hold one key. Fund release requires signatures from any two parties. This provides cryptographic guarantees that go beyond standard escrow even if the platform itself were compromised, it would need to cooperate with either the buyer or vendor to release funds, preventing unilateral platform theft. The v4 escrow interface was redesigned to make the multisig option clearly available for high-value orders. When an order exceeds a user-configurable threshold (default: equivalent), the interface automatically recommends multisig and provides a simple walk-through for first-time users. Standard escrow continues to work exactly as before for users who prefer simplicity over the added protection of multisig. The v4 release also introduced improved escrow status notifications, clearer delivery confirmation UI, and an auto-escalation feature that automatically opens a dispute if a delivery window expires without any confirmation from either party.
